Seignolles
The House of Seignolles
Seignolles, also known as J. Seignolles, belongs to the long tradition of Limoges porcelain. Limoges became the capital of French porcelain after kaolin, the pure white clay that hard-paste porcelain needs, was found at nearby Saint-Yrieix in the 1760s, and its workshops have dressed fine tables ever since. Seignolles keeps the whole process in Limoges, from the porcelain body to the final decoration, and works with an extra white paste that gives its plates a particularly clean, luminous ground.
The house is known for classic services with elaborate inlaid decoration. Seignolles also works with contemporary designers on collections with cleaner lines and new colours, which means a formal dinner and a modern table can be dressed by the same house.
Seignolles at DEROS THE SHOP in Athens
Seignolles joins other Limoges houses in our Art of Dining, such as Raynaud and J. L. Coquet. At 8 Sekeri Street in Athens, DEROS THE SHOP presents a selection of Seignolles porcelain:
- Dinner services in extra white Limoges porcelain
- Inlaid and gilded decorations for formal tables and special occasions
- Contemporary collections by designers, for a fresher, modern table
A Seignolles service is a natural choice for a wedding list. Our team can also advise on bespoke and personalised pieces, including custom Limoges dinnerware, and sample selected pieces to help you choose those that suit your home style.
