Ercuis

Founded in 1867 by a French priest, Adrien Céleste Pillon and named after the small French village in the region of Oise, Ercuis originally created silver items for use in church services before branching out into dinnerware and silverware for royal houses. Renowned for its artistic silverware, and being one of the leading silversmiths in France, Ercuis creations are characterised by an extremely high-quality of workmanship, being works of passionate craftsmen who care about detail.

The House of Ercuis

Ercuis is one of the established names of French orfèvrerie, the silversmith's art applied to the table. Its pieces are made in silver plate and in sterling silver, and its patterns run from classical designs drawn from the French decorative styles of the eighteenth century to clean, contemporary lines, so that the same house can dress a formal dinner and an everyday table.

A fork or a spoon passes through many hands before it is finished: the blank is cut and shaped, the pattern is struck, the edges are smoothed and the surface is polished until it is ready for the table. The same care goes into serving dishes, candlesticks, frames and desk objects, which allow a setting to be completed in a single style. Ercuis is closely linked with the Limoges porcelain house Raynaud, and the two are often presented together as Ercuis & Raynaud, silver and porcelain conceived to share a table.

Ercuis at DEROS THE SHOP in Athens

Ercuis has a long history with the family. In 1984 the family's boutique in Kolonaki showcased Ercuis together with Raynaud, and in 2015 Ercuis & Raynaud were among the brands with which DEROS THE SHOP was established. Today the shop at 8 Sekeri Street presents a selection of Ercuis pieces:

Silver cutlery is one of the most traditional wedding gifts, and an Ercuis set can be matched with Raynaud porcelain for a complete table.

Our team can prepare an Ercuis wedding list, arrange engraved cutlery, sample selected pieces to help you choose those that suit your home style, and advise on gifts. Visit the shop or get in touch to discover the collection.
