Baccarat

Since 1764, Baccarat has been synonymous with luxury, high aesthetics and l’art de vivre. Its crystal creations, often collectible, from the famous glasses to the impressive chandeliers and from decorative objects to jewelry, are the fine products of unchanged techniques, while innovative ideas and collaborations with talented designers focus on the new era.

The House of Baccarat

In 1764 King Louis XV authorised the founding of a glassworks in the village of Baccarat, in Lorraine in eastern France. Crystal has been made there since 1816, and for more than two centuries its artisans have practised glassblowing, cutting, engraving and gilding by hand. Several of them hold the title of Meilleur Ouvrier de France, the country's highest distinction for craftsmanship.

Baccarat crystal has lit palaces and dressed royal tables around the world. Its icons include the Harcourt glass, created in 1841, the Massena service and the great chandeliers that made the Maison's name. Contemporary designers keep writing new chapters: Philippe Starck with his reinterpretations of the Zénith chandelier and of the Talleyrand collection, and Marcel Wanders, whose New Antique collection gained new pieces for the Maison's 260th anniversary.

Baccarat at DEROS THE SHOP in Athens

The story of DEROS THE SHOP and Baccarat goes back to 1984, when the family's boutique in Kolonaki showcased Baccarat alongside Bernardaud, Ercuis and Raynaud. In 1997 the family opened the first Baccarat boutiques in Greece, in Athens, Kifissia and Thessaloniki.

Today DEROS THE SHOP, at 8 Sekeri Street in the heart of Athens, presents a curated selection of Baccarat collections:
